Russian war losses in Ukraine have risen for 6 months straight, UK says

December marked the sixth consecutive month that Russia's monthly troop losses increased, and the fifth straight month in which its average daily losses broke records, the UK Defence Ministry said Tuesday, citing Ukrainian military estimates.

The UK Defence Ministry on Tuesday shared estimates further bolstering the idea that the end of 2024 was the costliest period of the war for Russian troops fighting Ukraine.

Citing figures provided by Ukraine's military, the ministry on Tuesday said Russian troop losses had increased for six straight months, with average daily losses increasing for the past five months.
