The Golden Globes kick off the 2025 awards scene, giving a potential sneak peek at how the Oscars might shake out in March. The ceremony — a slightly lower stakes, food and booze-filled counterpart to the Oscars — awards both film and television performances and productions and notably makes a distinction between drama and musical/comedy films. This year's top nominees include Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, and Conclave on the film front, and The Bear, Shõgun, and Only Murders in the Building on the TV end.
