Prized point guard prospect Jahvon Quinerly is reportedly planning to play college basketball at Villanova after decommitting from the University of Arizona in October.
Per Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel, Quinerly will pledge to the Wildcats on Wednesday.
Quinerly's talent is obvious. He's a 5-star prospect and the No. 25 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He's also listed as the fifth-best point guard and the third-best recruit from the state of New Jersey among the group.
The Hudson Catholic Regional High School standout uses a terrific burst to attack the paint and has shown the ability to both finish in traffic and create open looks for teammates with advanced vision and court awareness for a player at the prep level.
In July 2016, the guard told Jack LeGwin of SNY he credited his tri-state area upbringing for helping him become a more well-rounded player.
